Applying the Lease |
All issues that have been raised to date will be incorporated into the Lease Guidelines. The concepts and proposals that have been advanced to date were discussed during the workshop. They will continue to be refined in committee meetings (and via this web site's "issues discussion group") after the workshop. The guidelines will be designed to help private landowners, government agencies, land trusts and public-interest organizations understand the reasoning behind the lease concept, describe when and where it can be used effectively, and provide the information that will be necessary to start negotiations on lease agreements and other conservation options that might be appropriate for consideration with the lease agreements. |
