Here's where you can find find more information about endangered species:
Florida Panther Net. A rich store of knowledge about the panther, its habitat and the fascinating plants and animals that share its southwest Florida home. Panther Net is a project of the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission's Advisory Council on Environmental Education. Panther Net is brought to you through proceeds from the Florida panther license plate.
Floridans' Knowledge, Opinions and Attitudes Toward Panther Habitat and Panther-Related Issues, a study conducted for the Florida Advisory Council on Environmental Education by Mark Damian Duda and Kira Young. Results are based upon a random digit-dialing computer-assisted telephone survey of the resident Florida population aged 18 and older.
Stewardship America. Florida Endangered Species: a list of resources.
Endangered Species: Images and Natural History. Image databases include thumbnail images which link to larger images along with brief descriptions of species.
Map of Endangered Species. Simply click on a region of the map to find out which species are threatened or endangered in that region.
EE-Link Endangered Species. This site is a well-organized compendium of images and maps, with numerous links to lists of endangered species, links to fact sheets about particular species and links to the text of pertinent laws.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Endangered Species Page. This site contains information and updates on USFWS programs, its Endangered Species Bulletin, the text of the Endangered Species Act, and extensive lists of endangered species with detailed information about the species' situation.
Florida Panter Society - a web site devoted to the Florida panther.
Crested Cracara Conservation Project. Describes research on how land management practices on private lands in central Florida are compatible with this species' survival. Provides one example of how ranches can maintain sustainable, economically viable activities while also conserving native habitats and wildlife species.
